When classic is the right choice
When nothing specific is wrong but everything is tight: a heavy week, poor sleep, a lot of desk time, general stress. The goal is circulation, muscle tone and how you feel afterwards, not the correction of a particular problem.
If you have a persistent complaint that keeps returning to the same spot, medical massage will get you further, because it starts from an assessment rather than a region you choose from a list.
Partial or full body
A partial session covers one region for 30 to 45 minutes, most often back and neck or legs. A full body session is 60 minutes.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference from a spa massage?
- The person doing it. At VALENS Medical every massage is performed by a licensed physiotherapist, so if something turns out to need treatment rather than relaxation, you will be told.
- How hard is the pressure?
- Whatever you ask for. Deeper is not better, and pressure that makes you hold your breath is counterproductive because the muscle guards against it.
- How often can I come?
- As often as you like. Once every two to four weeks is typical for maintenance.
- Should I eat before?
- Not a heavy meal in the hour before. Drink normally afterwards; there is no need to drink unusual quantities of water.
