Back massage in Zagreb
The most common request we get, and the one where the cause is least often in the back itself.
In short
A session costs 35 EUR, performed by a licensed physiotherapist at Prisavlje 12, Zagreb. No referral needed. Full list on the pricing page.
Where back tension actually comes from
Sitting is the usual suspect, but not for the reason people assume. The problem is rarely posture in a single moment; it is the same position held for hours with no variation, so some muscles stay long and quiet while others stay short and loaded.
The lower back also takes the consequences of stiff hips and a stiff mid-back. If those do not move, the lumbar spine moves instead, every time, all day.
What the session covers
A partial session covers the back and usually the neck, because the two are one system and treating only one of them rarely holds. If tension is widespread, a full body session is the better use of the hour.
Where testing suggests the driver is a stiff joint or weak hip rather than the back muscles themselves, you will be told, and physical therapy will get you further than repeat massage.
Frequently asked questions
- My lower back pain keeps coming back after massage. Why?
- Because massage treats the tissue that is complaining, not the reason it is loaded. If stiff hips or a weak trunk keep pushing the work onto your lumbar spine, the tension returns within days. That is when an assessment is worth more than another session.
- Is massage safe if I have a disc herniation?
- Often yes, and it can help the surrounding muscle spasm considerably. What it will not do is change the disc. If you have leg pain, numbness or weakness, say so before we start so the approach is adjusted.
- Back only, or back and neck?
- In practice almost always both. They share muscles and the tension pattern rarely respects the boundary.
- How soon can I train after?
- Light activity the same day is fine. Leave heavy lifting for 24 hours, since worked tissue does not test true immediately afterwards.
