Trigger point therapy in Zagreb
The reason your headache starts in your neck and your hip pain lives in your buttock.
In short
This is delivered inside a physical therapy session, which costs 70 EUR and lasts 45 to 60 minutes including the assessment. Full list on the pricing page.
Why the pain is not where the problem is
A trigger point is a small, hyper-irritable band inside a muscle. Pressed, it does not just hurt locally: it refers pain in a predictable pattern. Trapezius refers into the temple, gluteus medius into the outer hip and thigh, scalenes down the arm.
That is why so many people are treated for months at the site of the pain with nothing changing. The treatment has to go where the trigger point is, which is often somewhere else entirely.
How it is treated
Sustained pressure, specific stretching, and where the point is deep or stubborn, dry needling. Then the part most people skip: finding out why that muscle is overloaded, because a trigger point that is released without changing the cause comes back within weeks.
Frequently asked questions
- Is a trigger point the same as a knot?
- Knot is the everyday word for it. The clinical distinction is the referred pain pattern: a trigger point reproduces your familiar symptoms somewhere away from the point being pressed.
- Why does it come back?
- Because something keeps overloading that muscle: a workstation, a training imbalance, a joint nearby that is not doing its share. Releasing the point without changing that is treating the symptom.
- Can I treat trigger points myself with a ball?
- For maintenance, often yes, and you will be shown how. For finding which point actually reproduces your symptoms, an assessment is faster than guessing.
- How long does a session take?
- It is delivered inside a physical therapy session of 45 to 60 minutes, which includes assessment and the exercises that stop it recurring.
